68,000 tourists visited Macedonia in April.

In January to April 2017, relative to the same period of the previous year, the number of tourists increased by 10.7 percent. More specifically, the number of home tourists increased by 9.4 percent and the number of foreign tourists scaled up by 11.4 percent

In April this year, 68,047 tourists visited Macedonia, which is an increase of 18.4 percent from the same month of last year. They had 140,081 overnight stays, which is another upturn of 18.6 percent year-on-year.

The State Statistical Office said the number of home tourists in April climbed up by 15.8 percent and the number of foreign tourists stepped up by 19.6 percent from April 2016. The number of overnight stays domestic and foreign tourists had went up by 15 and 21.1 percent respectively.

In January to April 2017, in comparison with the same period of 2016, the number of overnight stays went up by 9.8 percent. The number of overnight stays by home tourists increased by 3.4 percent and the number of overnight stays by foreign tourists climbed up by 14.6 percent.
