68% of surveyed Kyryzstanis disbelieve effectiveness of counter-corruption efforts of government.

68% of interviewed Kyrgystanies disbelieve effectiveness of counter-corruption measures made by the government, according to the Global Corruption Barometer by Transparency International released at the press conference on July 9 in Bishkek. The survey was conducted in 7 CIS countries (Ukraine, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan) and Georgia. 8,000 respondents were interviewed. 17% of interviewed Kyrgyzstania said the measures made by the government in fight against corruption are effective. 15% of Kyrgyzstanis could not answer the question. 62% of interviewed Kyrgyzstanis said ordinary people are unable to change the situation in fight against corruption when asked so. 42% of surveyed citizens are ready to report about corruption.
