6 OWNERS are rushing to cash in on booming property prices, making it a buyers' market.

Haart, Britain's biggest independent estate agency chain, reported a 7.3 per cent annual jump in homes coming on to the market last month.

But the number of new buyers was down 2.8 per cent over the same period. So, although 9.5 buyers are chasing every property across the UK, that's down from 14.4 in January.

The gap was even more marked in London, where the number of would-be buyers was down by nearly 16 per cent year on year.

Haart boss Paul Smith said: "The second half marks a shift in favour of buyers."
