5th Arab Youth Forum concludes meeting in Alexandria.

Alexandria, March 2 (Petra) - Participants in the Fifth Arab Youth Forum, concluded its meetings Tuesday at Bibliotheca of Alexandria (BA).

Under the theme "Economic Empowerment of Youth", the forum discussed concepts of unemployment, employment in the shadow of the financial crisis as well as preparing youth to enter the employment market.

The four-day meeting introduced success stories including small enterprises, social initiatives, and e-learning to empower Arab youth with knowledge and prepare them to enter labor market. It also urged Arab governments to set up small enterprises to address Arab youth unemployment.

Participation of more than 650 youths representing different Arab states, and international youth organizations stressed the need to follow up Arab youth issues to address youth unemployment.

Director of the BA Ismail Sirag Aldin, said that the forum recommended Arab governments to focus on technical and vocational education to find trained cadres of youth able to enter labor market.
