5758 persons provided services by Rescue 1122 during July.
MULTAN -- Punjab Emergency Service Rescue 1122 rescued 5758 persons by responding to 5671 emergency calls during the month of July.
District Emergency Officer Dr Kaleemullah expressed these views while presiding over a meeting to review the monthly performance here on Thursday.
District Emergency Officer said that rescue 1122 received 2157 emergency calls of road accidents, 58 of fire, 97 of crime and seven drowning, two buildings collapse, one cylinder blast, 2968 of medical emergencies during the last month. The rescue
1122 had shifted 5758 patients to the hospitals, provide first aid to 2444 while 140 people died on the spot. The rescue 1122 responded each call within an average of seven minutes, he added.
Dr Kaleemullah said that last month a total of 111741 calls were received by Rescue 1122 out of which only 5758 were only emergency calls. He urged the citizens to avoid wrong/prank calls and let the rescuers work undisturbed.
