56th Annual Convention: More Learning, More Networking, More Fun August 22-29, 2001.

Are you ready for the biggest and most spectacular NSA event of 2001? Enjoy more learning, more networking and more fun as NSA takes its 56th Annual Convention to the Hyatt Regency on Nicollet Mall in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Minneapolis is considered by Money Magazine to be the best large city in the Midwest. The Nicollet Mall is a 12-block open-air pedestrian mall that lies in the heart of the retail district of downtown Minneapolis. A unique system of skyways composed of 62 climate controlled overhead bridges connects the Nicollet Mall to 4000 hotel rooms, as well as over 60 restaurants and cafes.

In the heart of the downtown business and financial district, the Hyatt Regency Nicollet Mall is just one mile from the Guthrie Theatre, Walker Art Center and Domed Stadium and only 10 miles from the famous "Mall of America" in Bloomington, Minnesota. Sometimes called the "Megamall," it's the largest indoor mall in America, comprising both retail stores and family entertainment. The Mall of America has approximately 4.3 miles of storefront. Regular bus service to the Mall of America is provided from downtown.

In addition to being held in a city that is ideal for a family vacation, NSA's Convention promises an educational program full of innovative, cutting edge topics guaranteed to help you grow your practice. Choose from over 90 hours of continuing professional education available through concurrent educational sessions as well as pre- and post-conference activities.

Keynote by Hattie Bryant

Hattie Bryant, host of the public television series, Small Business School, will take time from her weekly broadcasts to speak to convention attendees about the small business revolution that is sweeping the nation. Ms. Bryant has been teaching small businesses how to grow for over fifteen years. In 1993, she began to work on the concept of bringing her classroom to public television--thus the advent of Small Business School, which is broadcast by over 200 PBS-member stations and reaches 90 million U.S. homes.

Special Conference Additions

Course materials are included as part of the registration fee.

ACAT Comprehensive Examination for Accreditation in Accountancy (August 24): The ACAT exam tests the candidate's technical proficiency in the same areas covered in the cram course held the two preceding days. Individuals who pass the exam and meet ACAT's experience requirement may use the registered trademark Accredited Business Accountant[R] or Accredited Business Advisor[R] (ABA).

Special Enrollment Examination Cram Course (August 27-29): Prepare for the IRS Enrollment Exam to be administered on October 17-18. This three-day workshop will provide an extensive review of the essential topics covered on the exam with those key issues simplified and explained. In addition, participants will have the opportunity to practice and identify weak areas using five previous years exams. The workshop fee includes a course manual, with a special introductory chapter on how to study and prepare for the exam, as well as exam review software.
