53rd Racin meetings held in Veles.

The 53rd edition of the event Racin Meetings dedicated to the poet and revolutionary Koco Racin, the author of the timeless poetry book "White Dawns", was held in Veles on 9-10 June.

Outside the Kosturnica Memorial in Veles, one of the most important cultural events in Macedonia was opened by Culture Minister Elizabeta Kanceska-Milevska. The awards introduced at last year's edition of the event were also presented. The young poetess Danica Ivanovska Lepojevic won the Anthology of Pain award for her poetry book "Splendor, Fear and Poems", and Goran Lazevski was presented in his absence with the Twitter award Write Love in 140 Characters. Lazevski donated the prize money to the association of parents of children suffering from cerebral palsy from Veles.

The event was enriched with Olga Pango's performance "I Am Here", fireworks and a poetry reading by a dozen contemporary Macedonian poets of the older and younger generations. Also, books were promoted, an exhibition was held and flowers were laid at the Racin Memorial. At the closing ceremony at the New Theater in Veles, the traditional Racin Award was presented to Saso Dimoski and Vladimir Jankovski, whereas the Honorary Racin Award went to Prof. Dr. Borislav Pavlovski.
