527 gangsters nabbed; 18 murders traced in 2018.

ISLAMABAD -- Islamabad Police busted 193 gangs of criminals and traced 18 blind murder cases during the current year, a police source said on Tuesday.

He said that 81 gangs involved in dacoity and snatching incidents were busted while 321 dacoits were arrested for their involvement in these cases. Similarly, a total of 80 gangs involved in burglaries were busted and 216 criminals involved in these cases were held.

A total of 32 gangs of car and bike lifters were also busted besides arrests of 80 auto-thieves. In all, 36 persons were arrested for their involvement in 18 blind murder cases and challans of these cases were submitted into relevant courts after completion of investigation on them.

SSP Islamabad Syed Muhammad Amin Bukhari has appreciated this performance and termed this success due to effective strategy of community and vigilant policing.
