500 attend annual conference.

This year's NEPA conference drew slightly fewer participants than last year's--500 publishers, editors, marketers, vendors, copywriters, investment bankers, and consultants from 30 states, the District of Columbia, Canada, the U.K., France, Poland, and Germany.

United Communications Group (UCG) sent the largest contingent from one company, 26 from its Rockville, Maryland headquarters and its six divisions in Maryland, New Jersey, and Massachusetts.

Twelve persons attended from VNR verlag fur die Deutsche Wirtshaft AG, Bonn, Germany.

Thanks to funding from the Newsletter & Electronic Publishers Foundation, a dozen students from three colleges also attended, after having exhibited a strong interest in newsletter journalism.
