50 evacuated in apartment block blaze; FIRE.

MORE than 50 people were evacuated from an apartment block yesterday morning after a fire broke out.

The blaze took place on the fourth floor in a building in Belgard Square, Tallaght, Co Dublin, and at least six people were taken to hospital with suspected smoke inhalation.

Emergency services were alerted at 4.45am, when the fire brigade received reports of smoke in the building.

Six fire engines, a turntable ladder, and two ambulances were sent to the scene.

Search teams who went into the smoke-filled building later confirmed that no one was trapped inside.
