5 dead as bus runs into queue.
Up to 12 others were injured, some of them seriously.
The accident happened in Wellington Quay when a bus ploughed into a queue after mounting the pavement.
A number of people were trapped under the vehicle. All the dead and injured were either standing at the bus stop or were walking along the street.
The Dublin Bus Company said it was the worst accident in the company's history.
Irish Minister Bertie Ahern, whose Dublin constituency in the Irish parliament is close to the crash location, visited the scene to speak to emergency service workers.
