5 Reasons to eat.. SATSUMAS.

The mini 'oranges' are among my favourite seasonal snacks.

1 Bursting with vitamin C, just one satsuma can provide nearly half of your daily recommended intake.

2 Better than drinking orange juice alone, satsumas contain fibre, which fills you up, helps keep the colon healthy, controls blood sugar and also lowers any raised cholesterol.

3 They're good for the heart as they contain folate, which lowers blood levels of homocysteine, a heart disease risk factor, plus potassium, which helps lower blood pressure.

4 They contain good levels of calcium, which is necessary for strong bones and teeth.

5 They're easy to carry around, don't have irritating pips and are much quicker - and less messy - to peel than oranges. What's not to like?
