5,000 jobs waiting to be filled.

ADRIVE to fill 5,000 vacancies at the city's pounds 1bn Liverpool One retail scheme starts today.

Job seekers can walk in to a one-stop job shop and register for vacancies in leisure, tourism and retail.

Shop for Jobs within the Lord Street offices of Liverpool One developer Grosvenor, will register anyone wishing to be considered for a job at the new development, which opens this May.

People registering with Shop for Jobs will be contacted each time a job is created over the next few months.

Council leader Warren Bradley, who is helping to launch the initiative, said: "There are going to be thousands of jobs created in the city centre, and it is our duty to ensure that local people are in the best position to take advantage of them."
