40/86 Advisors Adds New Portfolio Manager and Research Analyst.

CARMEL, Ind. -- Firm Appoints David J. Miller as Vice President and Portfolio Manager of Insurance Group and David Polson as Assistant Vice President and Research Analyst Covering Banking & Finance and Insurance Sectors

40|86 Advisors, Inc., a leading fixed-income asset manager and investment advisor, today announced two new hires for its investment team:

--David J. Miller as vice president and portfolio manager of the Insurance Group; and

--David Polson, assistant vice president and research analyst covering the Banking & Finance and Insurance sectors.

Miller will report to Gregory Hahn, chief investment officer and Polson will report to Edwin Ferrell, director of research. Miller joins 40|86 after serving as senior investment officer and portfolio manager for Lincoln National Corporation. Polson joins the firm from Credit Suisse First Boston (CSFB) where he was an associate in the fixed income research department.

Prior to Lincoln National Corporation, Miller was a senior investment officer and portfolio manager at Members Capital Advisors. Before that, he held a number of senior investment positions throughout 14 years at Lincoln National Corporation and its subsidiaries, including senior credit analyst, vice president and portfolio manager. Miller began his career in finance as an accountant at Mutual Security Life Insurance.

He holds a master's degree in business administration and a bachelor's degree in accounting and finance, both from Indiana University. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and holds NASD Series 7, 24 and 63 licenses.

David Polson

Polson covered the property/casualty and life insurance sectors at CSFB in New York as a fixed income research associate. In this capacity, he followed major P&C and life insurance companies that were issuers or potential issuers of debt, with investment recommendations outstanding on at least 35 companies. Before CSFB, Polson was a financial institutions analyst at Financial Guaranty Insurance Company and a director at Fitch Ratings, Inc. At Fitch, he was directly responsible for the ratings of about 12 major companies and served as the supporting analyst for several other companies. Before Fitch, Polson was a senior analyst at Moody's Investors Service, where he was responsible for rating various companies in the financial guaranty industry.

He holds a master's degree in business administration from New York University and a bachelor's degree in history from SUNY Binghamton. Polson is a CFA and holds both the NASD Series 7 and 63 licenses.
