4/ CBO to Organize Training Course on Macroeconomic Management

Muscat, Aug 29 (ONA) --- The Arab Monetary Fund (AMF), in cooperation with the Central Bank of Oman (CBO) will organize tomorrow Sunday a joint training course on Macroeconomic Management and Financial Sector Issues.

The International Monetary Fund's Middle East Centre for Economics and Finance (CEF) will take part in the training course.

The training session will be held under the patronage of Hamoud bin Sangour al-Zedjali, CBO Executive President. It will be attended by about 40 senior economic and administrative officials from the central banks and financial institutions in the GCC countries, Jordan, Tunisia, Algeria, Sudan, Syria, Iraq, Libya, Egypt, Morocco, Mauritania and Yemen.

The program of the 10-day course includes lectures and workshops dealing with many issues related to the objectives and activities of AMF, objectives of macroeconomics and financial objectives in the Middle East and North Africa, in addition to the stability and growth of macroeconomic policies, structural reforms of system and policy of exchange rates, financial links of macroeconomics, monetary and fiscal policies, debt sustainability, and macro financial policies of financial stability.

The session will deal with financial crises, types, costs, management and strategies to deal with capital flows, and policies and the stability of the financial sector.
