4/ 7850 Certificates of Origin for Exports to GCC States.

Muscat, May 28 (ONA) ----Commercial Affairs Admiration at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry said that during the period form 1st July 2015 to 29th February 2016, the number of certificates of origin for the products exported to GCC states stood at 7850 including 1090 for agricultural and animal products, 2179 for natural resources products, 3622 for local manufactured goods, 939 for the products tradable among Arab countries and 20 standard Gulf certificate of Origin(EFTA).

Talal bin Hamoud al-Balushi, Head of Commercial License Department at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry said that the certificate of origin is a generic certificate of which many certificates are branched. The Gulf certificate of origin are granted to the Omani products to prove their origin. The certificate provides exports with benefits and preferential treatment including exemption of custom duties at the import countries; as per the agreements signed among countries in this regard.

He pointed out at the thee agreements include the Unified Economic Agreement Among the GCC States, the Agreement to Facilitate and Develop Trade among Arab States, FTA between the GCC States and the Republic of SingaporeandtheEFTA-GCCFree Trade Agreement.
