M2 EQUITYBITES-2 August 2010-3M settles patent infringement suit with VOSSCHEMIE regarding Paint Cup System(C)2010 M2 COMMUNICATIONS

Diversified technology company 3M (NYSE:MMM) and VOSSCHEMIE GmbH have settled a patent infringement action suit filed by 3M in November 2009, 3M announced on Friday.

The patent infringement suit was for a 3M patent relating to and covering 3M's Paint Preparation System products. 3M manufactures and sells a disposable cup paint mixing system under its PPS brand.

Under the terms of the agreement, the financial details and other details of which are stated to be confidential, VOSSCHEMIE has acknowledged the validity and enforceability of 3M's patent relating to its PPS brand product on a worldwide basis.

In addition, VOSSCHEMIE agreed to immediately cease and desist from selling the Gerson GPS disposable paint cup system.

VOSSCHEMIE GmbH is the German distributor of the GPS disposable paint cup system manufactured by US based Louis M. Gerson Co Inc.
