3M FOUNDATION TARGETS FUNDING FOR ST. PAUL'S EAST SIDE

ST. PAUL, Minn., April 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Neighborhoods on the East Side of St. Paul will be the focus of several financial and volunteer efforts by 3M. In actions approved by the 3M Foundation board of directors, over $650,000 in funding will go to programs directly serving the area.
Projects cited for funding include: $250,000 for the Boys and Girls Club of St. Paul; $200,000 for the Eastside YMCA; $150,000 for Face to Face Health and Counseling; and $60,000 for Merrick Community Services. Other metro-wide programs also will benefit the area through various educational and arts programs.
3M will form a task force with the community to understand the needs of the East Side neighborhoods and develop a plan for future 3M support. 3M has about 3,400 employees who live in the area, and about the same number work in 3M's East Side facilities. Several current employee volunteer programs may expand to help serve the needs of the East Side neighborhoods.
