 REDWOOD CITY, Calif., Jan. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- The 3DO Company (NASDAQ: THDO) today announced that 18 software titles are currently available in stores nationwide for the 3DO(TM) Interactive Multiplayer(TM) system, and that 219 titles are now in development. The company also announced that it plans to showcase titles from its software licensees in its booth (no. 10201, North Hall) at the Winter Consumer Electronics Show (WCES), Jan. 6-9, in Las Vegas.
 Twenty-three 3DO software licensees plan to show 43 3DO titles at WCES. Software titles currently available for the 3DO system include driving simulations, action/strategy titles, information software and educational programs for children. Many of these titles feature digitized movie footage, texture-mapped surfaces, smooth animations and explosive special effects and sounds.

"In 1994, our software licensees will be unveiling innovative new titles that will surpass anything else in the market today."

 Electronic Arts (EA), a leading entertainment publisher, recently announced that it plans to showcase 13 3DO software titles at WCES. The company said that it also plans to publish 20 to 25 titles in 1994, with at least 10 more planned by EA's Affiliated Label partners.
 The Software Toolworks, a leading publisher of education and multimedia software, also recently announced that it has begun shipping three titles for the 3DO system to stores nationwide, and has three more planned for release in 1994.
 The REAL(TM) 3DO Interactive Multiplayer system, which is marketed by Panasonic, was launched in October 1993 and is now in more than 2,000 retail outlets nationwide. For more information about the REAL 3DO Interactive Multiplayer system, consumers can call 800-REAL-3DO.
