3COM'S ERIC BENHAMOU TO DELIVER KEYNOTE ADDRESS
AT COMNET SAN FRANCISCO, JULY 20-23, 1992
FRAMINGHAM, Mass., May 4/PRNewsire/ -- President and CEO of 3Com Corporation, Eric A. Benhamou, will discuss the objectives of today's networks and future initiatives during his keynote address at ComNet San Francisco, July 20-23, 1992 at the Moscone Convention Center, San Francisco, Calif.
According to Benhamou, "Networks extend the reach of their users, collapsing space and time with an individual user sharing data and information with resources across the continents as easily as if they were next door. Tomorrow's networks will be servants, serving the needs of their user."
Benhamou will present the keynote address entitled, Building Tomorrow's Networks Today, at 9:45 a.m. on Tuesday, July 21 in the Esplanade Ballroom, Room 304.
He will offer solutions as to how to overcome the "Complexity Crisis" that currently plagues our industry and will examine three key issues to plan effectively for tomorrow's networks today: the characteristics of the technology you're likely to need in the future, the objectives your network must meet today and the applications you're likely to be running.
He will also discuss how 3Com Corporation has developed its own internal global data network and found the key to their cost-saving successes.
Prior to his current position as president and chief executive officer of 3Com Corporation, which he has held since September 1990, Benhamou was chief operating officer. In 1990, he held the position of 3Com executive vice president responsible for all product operations including development, marketing and manufacturing.
He co-founded Bridge Communications in 1981 and was vice president of engineering of that company from 1985 until his promotion at 3Com in 1987. He previously spent four years at Zilog, Inc. where he served as project manager and software engineering manager.
Benhamou is the author of several papers on global data networking and LAN technology. In 1990, Communications Week named him an Industry Visionary for their report on the 25 most influential people in business. He is listed in Who's Who in America.
