3CI COMPLETE COMPLIANCE REPORTS QUARTERLY REVENUES AND LOSS

HOUSTON, March 31 /PRNewswire/ -- 3CI Complete Compliance Corporation ("3CI") (NASDAQ-Small Cap: TCCC), a medical waste management company, today announced losses for the first three months of its fiscal year ended Dec. 31, 1992, of $151,191 or $.04 per share, compared with a net income of $18,140 or $0.01 per share for the comparable period in 1991. Revenues for the three months ended Dec. 31, 1992, were $1.662 million, an increase of 2.3 percent over the $1.625 million in revenues for the same period in 1991.
Dr. J. A. Argovitz, president and CEO, said, "The loss during the quarter was the result of lower than expected revenues and a 50,000- pound reduction in volume of waste processed from the comparable quarter in 1991 due to industry price discounting and the resulting loss of several hospital accounts in the last quarter of fiscal year 1992. Expenses increased while 3CI continued to shift its marketing emphasis and concentration into professional and third party markets to offset the impact of widespread price discounting by our major competitors."
Argovitz said, "3CI has concentrated its efforts to replace lost institutional business, increase its penetration into professional and third party markets and enter new service categories such as the MARPOL waste market which provides waste services to the shipping industry at several Gulf ports, disposal of expired pharmaceuticals through its Drug Enforcement Agency approval which was issued during the first quarter and its new U.S. Postal permit also issued during the quarter to dispose of `Mail-In' used sharps. The quarter's results reduced the company's losses by $480,217 from the fourth quarter loss of 1992. Although we are disappointed with the quarter's financial results, we believe our strategies implemented over the last six months are beginning to show positive results. We are continuing to offer our customers innovative waste management alternatives to control disposal costs and implementing new service opportunities in complementary medical waste niches. We continue to believe 1993 will reflect significant improvement in our operating results and growth of waste volumes."
During the quarter ended Dec. 31, 1992, 3CI initiated microwave disposal technology service to a major Dallas hospital. On Jan. 15, 1993, the company closed its previously announced acquisition of a Houston area waste disposal permit and related facilities and equipment.
3CI is a majority-owned subsidiary of American Medical Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ-Small Cap: AMOT), based in Houston.
