39,000 smart metres installed: Mepco.

MULTAN -- Mepco Chief Executive Officer Engineer Fazalullah Durrani said automatic metre reading (AMR) metres had been installed under advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) system with the help of the USAID.

He expressed these views while talking to USAID representatives at his office on Wednesday. He said 39,000 smart metres had been installed at 13 districts under the Mepco region.

He thanked the USAID for introducing the latest technology in the company and completed its various projects.

USAID representative Saleem Arif briefed the CEO that AMR metres had been linked with billing system at one sub-division initially. He said AMR metres billing was being linked with self-billing system at other sub-divisions also.
