A 31-year-old man was on Saturday arrested at the Gibeon T-junction on the B1 main road in the Hardap Region after he was found with drugs worth N.dollars 40 370 during a police operation.

The Namibian Police Force's acting crime investigations coordinator for the region, Detective Chief Inspector Simon Hauwanga told Nampa yesterday the arrest happened at about 08h30.

'It is alleged that the suspect was in possession of 301 full Mandrax tablets and three packs of skunk cannabis weighing 85 grams during the police search, with the intention of dealing in dependence producing drugs,' Hauwanga said.

The suspect was set to appear at the Mariental Magistrate's Court today.

Police investigations continue.
