3 typhoid fever cases detected in Batken for first time over years.

Three members of a family from Batken region were hospitalized with typhoid fever, director of the center for sanitary and epidemiological supervision Nurlan Orozaliyev told Turmush.

According to him, a resident of Samarkendek village of Batken region appealed to the Family Medicine Center with the complains on high temperature on October 31. However, she was not properly diagnosed there. After some treatment, she again had a high temperature and she appealed to the private medical center "Den Sooluk" in Batken town on November 8. The woman did not get the necessary treatment there as well.

Doctors then made a blood test of the woman and detected a Salmonella typhi in the blood on November 28.

According to the woman, she went to Kok-Tash village of Samarkendek rural area a week before she got ill.

The main symptom of the typhoid fever is a high temperature despite the treatment with various antibiotics, head of the Natken regional hospital said.

Some time ago, the woman's daughter and son were also hospitalized with typhoid fever.

The nidus of infection is being established. The last typhoid fever case was recorded in Batken region in 2000.
