3 insurgents killed, 27 wounded in Badghis clash.

BADGHIS (PAN): Armed Taliban attacked a security post in Bala Marghab district of northwestern Badghis province and in the ensuing clash three attackers and one Afghan national army soldier were killed and 27 insurgents and three Afghan troops were wounded, police said Friday.

Badghis police chief Brig Gen Ahmad Sami told Pajhwok Afghan News that the insurgent attack took place on Friday at about 11am on the Baba Kapi security checkpost of the national army soldiers.

He said three attackers were killed and 27 others wounded in counterattack. One ANA soldier was killed and three others wounded in the clash, Sami said. He said the clash that erupted at about 11am is still continuing.

Mullah Abdul Aziz, who claims to speak for the Taliban,told this scribe over the telephone that their three fighters were killed and 27 others were wounded in the clash with armed forces. "Three national army soldiers are killed and one wounded in the battle," he added.
