3 PEOPLE we went on tour with this week... 3am WEEKEND.

Byline: with ASHLEIGH RAINBIRD AND HALINA WATTS

1 Beyonce played a gig at Sunderland's Stadium of Light this week but shacked up at a lavish AirB&B in the countryside. Perhaps she believed a poll done last year that branded Sunderland "one of the worst cities to live in". Our source reveals: "She made a swift exit, choosing to stay in an AirB&B further down south." Bey performs at EE's Wembley Stadium in London this weekend, so presumably has more epic commutes to look forward to.

2 Earth, Wind & Fire brought a full-on disco to last week's Glastonbury festival, and bassist Verdine White, 64, has showcased impressive moves on stage during their UK tour.

He tells us he works out an hour every day with a personal trainer. "I do squats for the legs and the knees, sprints and I do shoulder things because I carry a 50lb bass around," he says.

"I need strength on the shoulders for carrying that bass. I get a good hour in when I'm not working. They're pretty intense sessions."

But he's had to cut his favourite treats - gummy bears - from his rider. "I changed that around to healthy things like protein bars. I was eating so much candy. We now have fruit, muscle milk and healthy things."

The group played London's O2 Arena last night as part of their tour, before heading to Bournemouth this evening and Liverpool on Monday. The shows include a video montage tribute to Verdine's late brother and founding member Maurice, who passed away in February, aged 74.

3 Rihanna missed a great PR opportunity to send out umbrellas to her fans who queued in rainy Manchester this week, but she did send them pizza and towels to dry off.

Ri's new single, Sledgehammer, features in the new Star Trek flick. She says of the series: "It just took me one episode to fall in love with this other world that I couldn't understand but felt like I could relate to."
