 3,000 ATMs IN SPAIN LINKED TO THE WORLDWIDE PLUS NETWORK
 SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- La Caixa d'Estalvis I Pensions de Barcelona, the largest Spanish savings bank, is the first financial institution in Spain to link its more than 3,000 ATMs to the international Plus network. Over 160 Americans and Canadians who carry the Plus cards now have access to instant cash in local currency at more than 8,500 teller machines in Europe.
 La Caixa, with assets of $58 billion and a network of approximately 2,300 branches, has ATMs located in all of Spain's major cities and business and tourist centers, including the Barcelona airport.
 The addition of La Caixa's 3,000 ATMs brings the worldwide number of Plus ATMs over 70,000, covering 22 countries. Visa International owns the Plus mark and markets the Plus program outside the United States.
 Visa International with more than 9.3 million acceptance locations and 275 million payment cards issued, is the world's largest consumer payment system.
