2776 new refugees cross into Tunisia.

TUNIS, March. 11, 2011 (TAP) - About 2776 Asian and African refugees, including 884 Libyans crossed on Thursday into Tunisia through the border posts of Ras Jedir and Dhehiba.

These statistics confirm, according to authorized sources at the National Defence Ministry, the stability recorded at the level of the number of refugees from Libya which ranges from 2000 to 3000 per day, compared with 12000 and 16000, at the onset of the uprising in Libya.

The number of refugees settled in the camp of Choucha and that of the United Nations Agency for Refugees stands at about 15091 including 12421 Bangladeshis, knowing that the overall number of refugees, since the outbreak of the uprising has reached so far 119485.

The same sources said that 2860 refugees had been repatriated on Thursday (more than half of them are Bangladeshis) through 11 flights from Djerba-Zarzis Airport, and 1614 more refugees are waiting at the airport to be evacuated.
