A BAHRAINI man, who was found dead near a mosque in Jidhafs, allegedly died of drug overdose, it emerged yesterday.

The 24-year-old was apparently thrown out of a car near the mosque by some of his friends after he ingested a large dose of drugs, said sources.

Two of his friends are said to be in police custody.

"It is believed that he and his friends, apparently living in the same neighbourhood, went for an outing and took some drugs along," said the sources.

"When the friends noticed that he had taken an overdose and become unconscious, they brought him near the mosque and dumped him.

"People saw his body and called the police, but he was dead by the time police came."
