221,253 IDPs from North Waziristan Agency vaccinated so far.

PESHAWAR -- Faced with a number of internal and external challenges people of North Waziristan agency (NWA) have to defeat many enemies including polio.

More than 470,000 people from NWA have been registered at various registration points out of which 221,253 have been vaccinated so far.

According to the data shared by district administration of Bannu a total of 221,253 people have been vaccinated so far out of which 149494 have been vaccinated at FR Bannu, 9180 at Bannu, 8430 at Tank, 5081 Lakki Marwat, 6247 D.I.Khan, 17838 Hangu, 9847 Kohat, 179 Karak, 14957 Peshawar.

The children living in FR Bannu, Bannu and adjoining districts are in danger of contracting polio due to influx of large number of unvaccinated children from North Waziristan Agency.

The health department has therefore advised people to vaccinate their children so as to protect them from lifelong disability.
