Summary: These abandoned buildings are old and unfit for human habitation

Staff Report

Abu Dhabi: A total of 21 abandoned structures in the suburbs of the capital and Al Ain will soon be demolished by the Municipality of Abu Dhabi City.

In a statement, the municipality said the buildings were old and unfit for human habitation. Many are also infested with pests and weeds, and therefore pose a threat to public safety.

Five of the structures are located in Al Ain's Al Khatam area, while 16 are in the Abu Dhabi suburbs of Baniyas and Al Samha. Property owners have already been notified about the upcoming demolitions.
