2014 TribuneFest: Audio From the Transportation Track.

The transportation track at the 2014 Texas Tribune Festival featured panel discussions on road funding, high-speed rail, transportation planning and the new urban mobility. Listen to each audio session here:

Texas Monthly Senior Editor Erica Grieder moderated the "What's Next for Road Funding?" session, which got the track kicked off. Panelists included state Sen. Robert Nichols, state Reps. Joe Pickett and Ron Simmons, Texas Department of Transportation Executive Director Joe Weber and Texas A&M University System Vice Chancellor Tommy Williams.

Next up was the "Is High-Speed Rail Really Happening?" session, moderated by Tribune Reporter Aman Batheja. On the panel were Texas Central Railway President Robert Eckels, Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins, Commission for High-Speed Rail official Bill Meadows, state Rep. Jonathan Stickland and Texas Department of Transportation Planning Director Marc Williams.

Aman Batheja of the Tribune also moderated the "Planning for the Future" panel. It featured Texas Department of Transportation deputy Executive Director John Barton, former Texas Transportation Commission Chairwoman Deirdre Delisi, Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority Executive Director Mike Heiligenstein, North Central Texas Council of Governments Transportation Director Michael Morris and U.S. Rep. Roger Williams.

The final panel, "The New Urban Mobility," was moderated by Rick Casey, Host of KLRN's Texas Week. It featured B-cycle Sales Director Lee Jones, Justin Kintz of Uber, Austin Mayor Lee Leffingwell, Corpus Christi Mayor Nelda Martinez, San Antonio Mayor Ivy Taylor and Daniel Witt of Tesla.
