2005 Honda Accord Hybrid Now Available Nationwide.

American Honda Motor Company, Inc. made available on Friday at dealerships nationwide its 2005 Honda Accord Hybrid, the world's first V-6 powered hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) and Honda's third HEV, at a manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) of $29,990.

"The Accord Hybrid marks a new chapter in the evolution of hybrid technology," said American Honda executive vice president Dick Colliver. "It requires no sacrifice in power, performance or comfort and delivers on the expectations of the customer for advanced technology and improved fuel efficiency."

The automaker noted that the all-new Accord Hybrid, which employs the third generation of Honda's advanced integrated motor assist (IMA) full hybrid system in combination with new variable cylinder management (VCM) cylinder deactivation technology, is capable of generating 255 peak horsepower (hp), versus 240 hp for the Accord V-6 Sedan.
