2004 NTCA Annual Meeting & EXPO.

February 8-11, 2004 * Miami * Fontainebleau Hilton Resort Celebrating NTCA's Golden Anniversary 50 Years of Service to the Rural Telecommunications Industry

Join NTCA as we kick off our 50th anniversary gala in Miami--the perfect backdrop for this monumental event and the 2004 Annual Meeting. Dubbed the "World's Premier Playground," Miami offers the best of all worlds--a rare destination where the cutting-edge of urban chic co-exists with the beauty and splendor of a tropical paradise. It is an exciting backdrop for NTCA's 50th anniversary celebration and the 2004 Annual Meeting & EXPO.

Annual Meeting Program

The 2004 Annual Meeting has something for everyone: first-rate general sessions featuring keynote speakers and panels, an innovative telecommunications education program with timely seminars and workshops, and the industry's premier trade show--EXPO '04--designed exclusively for the rural telecommunications sector.

Welcome to Miami

This short introductory session will give an expert overview of the immediate geographic area, as well as information about the city and details about tour options offered throughout the week. Visitor guides from the area will be provided.

Opening General Session Entertainment

The Opening General Session will start with a warm welcome to Miami, courtesy of Ritmo Caliente Del Caribe (Hot Caribbean Rhythm). This hip, Copacabana-style band will play high-energy American and Latin music, as a dance couple shows off the intricate steps of the Mambo, Rumba, Merengue and Salsa. The band features a dynamic sax/flute player and sizzling female vocalist, promising an invigorating start to the meeting.

Opening General Session

Richard Notebaert, chairman and chief executive officer of Qwest Communications International, will be the keynote speaker at the opening general session. FCC Commissioner Kathleen Q. Abernathy also has been invited to address the Opening General Session to share her insights on key regulatory issues pending before the Federal Communications Commission and their impact on the independent telecommunications industry. And a panel discussion asking the question, What's Eating Your Revenues? will offer perspective from different players on the telecom industry's challenges in an unstable world.

Second General Session

Author Jason Jennings will speak on "less is more," and the secrets of the world's most productive companies.

Executive Management Symposium

There will be a track of seminars exclusively for general managers and owners.

Attendees will have 12 seminars from which to choose, with a mix of sessions for telco managers, owners and directors. Most of the seminars repeat, so attendees can take advantage of as many as four topics at one low price. Pre-registration is required for seminars.

A variety of complimentary workshops will be offered; registration is not required. Look for workshop topics in future Annual Meeting Updates.

Attendees are invited to the NTCA Welcome Reception Sunday evening in the lawn area near the beach of the Fontainebleau. Entertainment will be provided by Islanda, a tropical trio performing a variety of reggae, calypso and popular island favorites. Attendees also are invited to the EXPO Open House on Tuesday for a light reception and the opportunity to meet with exhibitors.

EXPO '04 is the best national manufacturing and service showcase in the industry devoted to small and rural independent telcos. The EXPO provides a unique opportunity to learn about the latest products and services. On Tuesday, NTCA will host a luncheon for managers and their colleagues, and on Tuesday afternoon, attendees are invited to an open house from 4:30-6 p.m. A luncheon will be held Wednesday for managers, directors and key employees, from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. (See the Schedule-at-a-Glance on pages 48 and 49 for a complete listing of EXPO events.)

Foundation for Rural Service Fund-raising Event

An Evening Under the Sea

Join the Foundation for Rural Service (FRS) for an "evening under the sea" at the Miami Seaquarium, and take in the beautiful views of downtown Miami and Biscayne Bay. This fund-raising event will include transportation to and from the event, a reception on the enchanting Garden Terrace, dinner to the music of a tropical steel drum band, an exclusive "Flipper" show and dessert in the captivating Dolphin Lobby. While at the dolphin show, Atlantic bottlenose dolphins will astound viewers with jumps, spins, tail walks and flips, choreographed to music and accompanied by lively and informative narration. Proceeds from the event are intended to benefit the FRS College Scholarship Program.

TEC0 presents ...

Cirque du Monde--On Broadway

This amazing presentation will be held at the renowned Tropigala Restaurant in the Fontainebleau, featuring a gourmet dinner and amazing acrobatic feats.

NTCA's 50th Anniversary Gala

Join us for a lively gala to celebrate NTCA's 50th anniversary. This exciting night begins with a lovely dinner, followed by the presentation of NTCA's national awards. Then, don your dancing shoes for when the real party begins! This fun-filled gala will feature the Fabulous Hubcaps in the main ballroom, '50's-era dancing in another ballroom, a scrumptious dessert buffet reception, caricaturists, fortune tellers, professional '50's-style dancers and much more.
