2003 Volunteer Leaders Forum.
TAPPI leaders from throughout the association will converge in Atlanta, July 8-10 for the 2003 Volunteer Leaders Forum. This assembly of volunteer leaders will focus on the topics critical to successful leadership in TAPPI and will continue to work toward applying the concepts from Jim Collins' best selling book Good to Great.
The 2003 TAPPI Volunteer Leaders Forum is open to everyone who is currently involved as a leader or officer in any TAPPI division, committee, community, or local section, as well as anyone who might be interested in serving as a leader in the future.
Building on last year's experiences, attendees will participate in sessions devoted to leadership development, team-building, marketing, and other mission-critical skills needed to guide the Association toward attaining our strategic initiatives for 2003; delivering value to members; increasing member satisfaction & engagement while achieving financial sustainability. Participants will benefit from sharing of best practices, networking between member groups, and fresh insights gained since last year.
Through custom-designed learning sessions, coupled with teambased assignments, participants will be immersed in topics critical to their success as TAPPI leaders:
* TAPPI's vision, mission and strategy
* Leadership skills and team motivation
* Delivering value to TAPPI members
* Enhancing current activities
* Delivering great content
* Expectations and norms for leadership
* Developing market-based activities
* Identifying and sharing best practices
Attendees rated last year's forum program quality as excellent, and the 2003 Volunteer Leaders Forum promises to be even better. The content will be updated to include the most recent strategic initiatives, plus each learning session will hold new ideas for everyone.
Each member group is encouraged to have at least one representative at the forum and groups are being encouraged to attend together for high intensity team building and planning for the coming year.
