200 Saudis deployed to cut hair of pilgrims.
ISLAMABAD -- A center to cut hair of pilgrims after performing Haj has been declared safe by the Makkah municipality.
The center has been set up by the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) in Mina in cooperation with Makkah Governor Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, said Makkah Mayor Osama Al-Bar.
Al-Bar said more than 200 young TVTC graduates with diplomas in technical and vocational training would be working at the center during the Haj period, Arab News reported.
Faisal Kudas, President of the TVTC said, the center near the Jamrat, the area where the ritual stoning of Satan takes place, has been set up to ensure the best possible services for pilgrims. It is also creating jobs for young people.
Abdel Haq, Chairman of the trainees program said the young barbers have been supplied with disposable blades and sterilized shaving kits and will charge prices set by the municipality. There would also be municipal officials and a doctor present to monitor standards, he said.
