2 firms announce merger.

Langan Engineering Associates and Langan Environmental Services have combined their operations to form Langan Engineering and Environmental Services, Inc., reports Bernard F. Langan, managing principal of the firm.

"Most projects today require both civil engineering and environmental expertise," said Langan. "By merging the resources of our two groups, we can provide clients with a more comprehensive array of services. We are also able to offer integrated project teams that will manage projects in a more timely and cost effective manner."

Formed in 1970, Langan Engineering Associates offers geotechnical and civil engineering services to both private and public sector clients. Langan Environmental Services was created in 1986 to provide environmental planning, permitting, regulatory compliance and hazardous waste remediation services.

Langan has traditionally been involved with a variety of design and environmental projects throughout the northeast and Florida. Recently, Langan was named the general environmental consultant for the New York City School Construction Authority for future SCA construction projects. It was also awarded a contract by Public Service Electric & Gas Company of New Jersey to design a new underground transmission and distribution system in Jersey City.

Langan Engineering and Environmental Services, Inc. provides comprehensive geotechnical and civil engineering, environmental and construction consulting services. With a staff of over 100 technical and support personnel, Langan maintains offices in Elmwood Park, New Jersey; North Miami Beach and West Palm Beach, Florida; New York, New York; and Doylestown, Pennsylvania.
