UXBRIDGE - An investigation into an alleged drug-dealing operation resulted in the arrest last week of two people, who were charged with possession with intent to distribute heroin, among other allegations.

John R. Boucher II, 23, of 6 McBride St., Northbridge, and Erika Annis, 21, 205 Whitins Road, Sutton, were arrested Dec. 22 at the Quaker Motor Inn in Uxbridge.

Following his arraignment Dec. 24 and a pretrial hearing Friday at Uxbridge District Court, Mr. Boucher is being held in lieu of $10,000 bail on the heroin charges and previous warrant drug distribution charges.

Ms. Annis' $1,000 bail was revoked Friday, and Judge Vito A. Virzi placed her under house arrest.

According to court documents, Uxbridge police, along with Northbridge Police Detective Donald Roy, were at the Quaker Motor Inn around 9 a.m. Dec. 22 to serve a warrant for Mr. Boucher's arrest when they discovered the heroin and related distribution material in the room occupied by Mr. Boucher and Ms. Annis.

Police found several clear bags with what they alleged to be heroin residue and several bags with a tannish-brown substance they believed to be heroin, $254 and a glassine bag containing several small bags that allegedly contained heroin.

Ms. Annis was also charged with possessing stolen property (less than $250), illegally attaching license plates and having an uninsured motor vehicle after police identified the Jeep Grand Cherokee parked outside her motel room, which she said was hers, as having stolen license plates.

Additional charges for Mr. Boucher and Ms. Annis came after Northbridge police, along with members of the Blackstone Valley Drug Task Force and the Webster K-9 unit, searched a storage unit rented by Mr. Boucher at Uncle Bob's Storage in Northbridge on Dec. 13.

Based on the findings from the search warrant, Mr. Boucher was charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession of cocaine, possession with intent to distribute cyclobenzaprine, possession of cyclobenzaprine, possession of clonazepam, possession with intent to distribute marijuana and one count of possession of ammunition without a Firearm Identification Card.
