1st Silicon and mSilicon Engage Mtekvision, Korea's Leading Fabless Semiconductor Company; Delivery of High Quality 0.18 Micron Chips Are Heart of the Deal.

KUCHING, SARAWAK, Malaysia, & SEOUL, Korea -- 1st Silicon (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd., a premier semiconductor-manufacturing foundry, and mSilicon Co. Ltd. of Korea embarked on a manufacturing agreement that will result in the delivery of wafers to Mtekvision Co. Ltd., the leading fabless semiconductor company in Korea.

Under terms of the agreement, 1st Silicon will supply Mtekvision with 0.18 micron products for use in mobile cameras. The initial production ramp up commenced this November.

1st Silicon's Chief Executive Officer, Dr. John Nelson said, "Given our strategy of serving a diverse customer base, we are proud to be Mtekvision's chosen foundry. This partnership is a fitting move for all three companies and demonstrates the leverage gained through synergistic collaboration."
