1994 FORD MUSTANG PRICE ANNOUNCED

DETROIT, Oct. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- The new Ford Mustang equipped with a 3.8-liter V-6 engine and manual transmission will have a Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $13,365, a Ford (NYSE: F) executive announced today.
Ross H. Roberts, Ford vice president and Ford Division general manager, said: "We think Mustang lovers all over North America will appreciate this value, especially as it is priced below its major competitors."
The redesigned pony car comes with dual airbags, four-wheel disc brakes, AM/FM stereo, power steering and a power driver's seat as standard equipment.
The Mustang GT coupe with the popular 5.0-liter V-8 engine and manual transmission will begin at $17,280 MSRP. The 3.8-liter convertible will be priced starting at an MSRP of $20,160. The GT convertible has a base MSRP of $21,970.
"Mustang built its heritage on affordable performance with a $2,368 sticker price back in 1964," Roberts said. "When you factor in inflation and the estimated cost of $3,000 for government-mandated safety and emissions equipment, the 1994 Mustang actually is less than the original."
Automatic transmission is available at $790, he said. Other optional equipment includes an anti-lock braking system, a CFC-free air conditioner and an all-new Mach 460 sound system.
 Public introduction is Dec. 9.
