1994 DODGE RAM NAMED HOME MECHANIX 'EASY MAINTENANCE TRUCK OF THE YEAR'
HIGHLAND PARK, Mich., Nov. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Chrysler Corporation's (NYSE: C) all-new 1994 Dodge Ram full-size pickup truck today collected its third award -- this one from Home Mechanix magazine, which named it "Easy Maintenance Truck of the Year." The magazine noted that the Ram "proved the easiest to service of the three new pickups hitting the showrooms this year" with accessible routine service items including a front-service instrument panel. Rather than dismantling the instrument panel to change a gauge, for example, it can be replaced by removing the cluster bezel. "Since many truck owners service their own vehicles, all normal maintenance items were designed with the customer in mind," said Don Merrell, Jeep/Dodge Truck Team Serviceability Planning Manager. "For example, the fluid level checks and fuses are within easy reach and we've provided along extra fuses and a tool to replace them. We've also improved servicing of all electronic components." Other recent Dodge Ram awards include Motor Trend's 1994 "Truck of the Year" and Petersen's Four Wheel and Off-Road "4 x 4 of the Year." Production of the Dodge Ram began this past July at the Dodge City Truck Assembly Plant in Warren, Mich. -0- 11/11/93 /CONTACT: Pamela Gross, 313-576-5495, or Mike Aberlich, 313-576-8094, both of Chrysler/ (C)
