1993 SAAB SALES GAIN CONTINUES -- FEBRUARY PERFORMANCE UP 1.8 PERCENT

NORCROSS, Ga., March 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Saab Cars USA, Inc., importer and distributor of distinctive Saab 9000 and 900 automobiles, reported a February 1993 sales total of 1,491 new Saabs sold.
This result represents a 1.8 percent increase compared to the same month last year, when Saab dealers delivered a combined total of 1,464 new 9000 and 900 models.
The Swedish automaker enjoyed a significant sales gain last month. During January 1993, Saab sales rose 19.5 percent with 1,267 new Saabs retailed -- compared to 1,060 during January 1992.
According to Jan Jonsson, vice president, sales and operations, "The success of the popular 9000 series -- which includes the 9000 CS and CD range of cars -- continues to fuel Saab's positive 1993 sales growth." A total of 597 new Saab 9000s were sold during February, compared to 439 delivered during February 1992. This represents a 36.0 percent increase in Saab 9000 sales, or 40.0 percent of total February 1993 sales.
