1992 CRUCIAL FOR CHRYSLER, IACOCCA SAYS
HIGHLAND PARK, Mich., Dec. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Chrysler Corporation

(NYSE: C) Chairman Lee A. Iacocca said in a year-end statement to employees today that 1992 will be one of the most crucial years in the company's history.
"Going in, we suspected 1991 would be a rough year and it was. Our goal was to get through it and we did," Iacocca said.
"Chrysler did as well as anyone could have expected in a year-long recession and maybe a little better because we kept our costs down while protecting our investment in the future.
"Losing less money than our competitors is no honor, but it does say that Chrysler is in shape for recovery.
"With the Viper, Grand Cherokee and LH cars hitting the market in 1992, and with Chrysler's minivans continuing to dominate the market, we're on the verge of one of the most crucial years in Chrysler's history. When the economy snaps back, we will be ready.
"Now, if the economy will only cooperate...."
