17 arrests as raids net pounds 15k drugs haul.

POLICE seized pounds 15,000 of cannabis and made several arrests as part of a string of successful drugs raids in South Wales over the past three weeks.

The Vale of Glamorgan Drugs Team in Barry seized large quantities of cannabis, heroin and amphetamines.

A 36-year old man from the Barry area has been charged with possession and intent to supply cannabis and two more - another 36-year-old from Barry and a 34-year old, also from the Barry area - have been charged with possession of heroin with intent to supply.

In total, 17 arrests were made as part of the three-week operation.

Sergeant Julian Kerslake of the Barry Drugs Team said: "The possession and supply of drugs will not be tolerated and we will continue to be vigilant and anyone involved in such criminal activity will be found and arrested."
