1675 Broadway now complete.

With the addition of commissioned artwork to the lobby of 1975 Broadway, the 35-story office building built by Jack and Lewis Rudin and designed by Fox & Fowle Architects is now complete. Located on the west side of Broadway between 52nd and 53rd Streets, 1675 Broadway cantilevers 45 feet over the existing landmarked Broadway Theatre. Unlike most of its new neighbors in the Times Square area, the building is fully leased.

The building's prominence, according to the architects, is enhanced through the treatment of its entry and lobbies. Working closely with the owners and art consultant, Randy Rosen, the architects asisted in the selection of artists Valerie Jaudon and James DeWoody. Both of their works are large abstract paintings. The Valerie Jaudon piece is composed of dynamic geometric forms in vibrant shades of red, and the James De Woody piece is an abstract of the buildings facade in brilliant blues, greens and yellow. The artwork was carefully chosen to assure compatibility with both the building's architecture and the interior spaces. The elevator lobbies featureen two cast aluminum architectural reliefs from the Barbizon Plaza building dating form the 1930's. Designed by Lawrence Emmons, they were part of a series on the theme of the arts. The metal surround within which the pieces are set was designed by Fox & Fowle, and fabricated by Modern Frames Inc.
