16 militants' surrender in Bannu.

BANNU, November 05, 2009 (Frontier Star): At least 16 militants on Thursday announced to renounce violence and surrender before the local Jirga headed by Haji Mohammad Siddique. The Jirga handed over 16 militants to Police. District Police Officer Bannu Iqbal Marwat has directed rest of militants and criminals to lay down arms and work for betterment of the country. He said the militants have a chance to spend peaceful life but they would have surrender. Head of local Jirga Haji Mohammad Siddique speaking at the occasion said that the militants have surrendered before the Jirga in better interest of the area. The militants while handing over their weapons to Police have said that those who are killing their own brothers and carrying out suicide bombings are not Muslim and we have no link with them. We would also help Police to identity terrorists, they said.
