158 teachers protest against non-payment of salaries.

HAFIZABAD -- Teachers of 158 Basic Education Community Centers (BECC) has protested against non-payment of their salaries for the past one year.
They took out a rally in front of Press Club Hafizabad on Saturday. The protesters were raising slogans against the Federal Government for not arranging for their salaries for the last 12 months.
According to the protesters, 158 Basic Education Community Centers have been functioning in the district for the past 22 years successfully and proved useful for increasing literacy rate in the district without having desired facilities in the centers.
They said that they were teaching the male and female students in the remote areas but the government was neither providing books nor benches/desks in the centers.
The teachers worked hard to promote education and raised literacy rate in the district to great extent but for the past one year government was not paying their salaries.
They called upon the Federal Government to arrange payment of their salaries.
Young man commits suicide : A young educated boy in Kariala village is reported to have committed suicide by shooting himself with a pistol in his house.
According to police source, Sunny Amjad and his father Amjad Farooq had an argument as a result of which he got offended and later committed suicide by shooting himself with a pistol.
His body has been shifted to the city morgue for autopsy.
Hafizabad, Pindi Bhattian lawyers continues strike: Lawyers of Hafizabad and Pindi Bhattian continued their strike for the sixth consecutive day to protest against the firing and suicide attack in the Islamabad Courts killing an Additional District and Sessions Judge and eleven others including some lawyers.
The DBA President Ch Abid Fayyaz Tarar and General Secretary Malik Nazakat Ali Phularwan have strongly condemned the Islamabad incident and have called upon the government to launch organized operation to eliminate terrorism in the country.
