150 hit by legion bug.

MORE than 150 people have needed hospital treatment in the legionnaires' disease outbreak, making it one of the UK's worst.

Doctors said yesterday 105 cases are confirmed and nearly 50 are in hospital awaiting test results.

Ian Cumming, head of Morecambe Bay NHS Trust, said the number of new patients was levelling off and expected to fall.

He added: "From the cases we are seeing we have reached a plateau."

Parts of the Forum 28 arts centre in Barrow in Furness, Cumbria, at the centre of the outbreak, were reopened.
