132 people receive certificates of training to become foster parents.

Potential foster families which passed successful training in 2018 received certificates on December 19, the Ministry of Labor and Social Development reports.

211 people throughout the country expressed a desire to learn and become foster parents. 132 parents received the certificate according to the results of two-stage training and selection.

Foster parents who have undergone special training are selected for a child to be transferred to a foster family. The foster family is formed on the basis of an agreement on the transfer of a child to be raised in a family that voluntarily takes for education. Up to 3 children under the age of 16 may be brought up to a foster family. At the same time, the total number of minor children including children of their own, adopted children and wards should not exceed 5 children, said the Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Development Aliza Soltonbekova.

Material support and financing of the maintenance of children transferred to foster care and the wages of foster parents are provided from the state budget.
