12 teams to lock horns in AHK football tourney on Sport Day.
tribute News Network Doha On the occasion of National Sports Day, the German Industry and Commerce Office Qatar (AHK) along with the German Business Council Qatar (GBCQ) will host the 7th Annual Football Tournament on Tuesday, February 11, at Al Sadd Sports Club. In this year's tournament, 12 teams from different German and local companies will compete for the first place, trying to challenge the current champions from Nasser Bin Khaled Holding, who are also the Main Sponsors of the event along with Platinum Sponsor Roland Berger. A statement issued by the German Embassy in Qatar on Wednesday read: "A special thanks goes also to all Gold Sponsors Siemens WLL, DB Engineering and Consulting, SAP, Marzooq Shamlan Al Shamlan Holding and Qatar International Automobiles (QIA-MAN), Marketing Sponsor The Look Company, Equipment Sponsor Luxury Trade and Marketing Group, Airline Sponsor Turkish Airlines and Beverage Sponsor Jouf Water. "Football is one of the most important sports in both Qatar and Germany and hence presents the best opportunity to connect both communities and build stronger ties through the power of sport." It added, "In line with the vision of the Amir His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani, we are proud to host this family event to promote an active lifestyle for the 7th consecutive year. Everyone is invited to come watch the matches and cheer their favourite teams. "Undoubtedly, the sports sector will be one of the leading drivers to contribute to Qatar's economic growth in preparation of the 2022 FIFA World Cup and German companies will continue to play a vital role in this diversification. For that reason, we are preparing for an inbound mission during the second half of the year that will bring German companies from the sports sector to Doha in order to evaluate new partnerships in the fields of sports infrastructure, sports management, sports medicine, sports equipment and wearables and facility management."
